Green Shalom Call to Costco Shoppers

Two years ago Costco stopped carrying recycled bath tissue and paper towels because, according to the manager, these products “were not moving.” A few environmentally conscious people encouraged him to try again, so Costco is now stocking Marcal 100% recycled bath tissue and paper towels. It will make a huge difference if a lot of people switch over to these products. Please support this effort to encourage Costco (and all other stores) to stock recycled paper products. It also helps to thank store managers for doing so!

Too Much Zucchini in Your Garden?

Help those in our community who don’t have enough food to eat. Do you have more tomatoes than your family can possibly eat? More peaches than you have time to can? Corn coming out of your ears? Despite California’s agricultural prosperity, as many as 40,000 San Luis Obispo County residents don’t know where and how they’ll get their next meal.

Grassroots II will take donations of fresh fruit and vegetables. They are located near CBD at 11545 Los Osos Valley Road. For more information about drop-off times, call Donna at Grassroots II at 471-1369 or 544-2333 or email Elie Axelroth at eaxelrot@calpoly.edu.

Printer cartridges

Thank you to those of you who brought your empty cartridges to the box in the office. We received $120.00 for the last batch. This really helps with office supplies. Please remember to bring them whenever it is convenient for you and we will get them to Office Max.
