Preparation for Bar/Bat Mitzvah includes a minimum of three years of Sunday school and Hebrew school, private instruction and regular attendance at worship services. Temple membership is required prior to your son or daughter enrolling in Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation, and Temple membership must be in good standing with all dues and fees current and up-to-date prior to Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony.

Bar and Bat Mitzvah, though an important milestone in religious life, does not signify completion of your child’s Jewish education. All young adults having become B’nai Mitzvah are encouraged to continue their Jewish studies in our two-year Confirmation Program which culminates with a Confirmation celebration. This program focuses on Judaism, relevant teen issues, ethics, theology, Israel, and social action. The program also includes an annual field trip introducing students to the greater Jewish communities in Southern and Northern California.
